By making a booking with Jim Germaney Driving Tuition you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions:​

The pupil certifies that a valid UK license, that is registered to their home address, is held to drive within the UK and they the pupil is fit to drive and can read a number plate from at least a distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet).

In the event of circumstances beyond the instructors control they reserve the right to cancel, or rearrange, the lesson at short notice.

Jim Germaney Driving Tuition reserves the right to refuse to take on a pupil or to cease lessons at anytime.

A MINIMUM OF A FULL 48 HOURS notice is required for any cancellation of a lesson. Failure to give such notice shall result in, the full lesson fee liable to be paid for the duration of the lesson booked / forfeiture of any pre-payment for the late cancelled lesson / forfeiture of any voucher redeemed against the cancelled lesson. A no-show for a lesson will be classed as a cancellation by the pupil and the late cancellation rules will be applied.

If a pupil is running late for a lesson they must inform the instructor asap. After 10 minutes waiting time the lesson is deemed to have been cancelled and shall be charged in full. If the lesson can be rearranged within the current Monday – Sunday week then the late fee may be waived at the discretion of the instructor.

Payment for each lesson is payable on or before the lesson. Cheques shall NOT be accepted, bank transfers are required to clear prior to a lesson commencing. Bank details: 47158360 60-60-08

Requests for refunds for any pre-paid lessons must be submitted by email and shall be refunded at the discretion of Jim Germaney Driving Tuition within ten working days of receipt of request. All lessons taken shall be charged at the full hourly rate in operation at that time, in addition an admin fee of one hour shall be charged.

A lesson is of a minimum 2 hours duration, if for any reason outside of the instructors control it is not possible to give the full hour lesson then any lost time will be added to later lessons.

The price paid to DVSA for the driving test fee does not include the use of the car for the purpose of the test, a minimum of a two hour booking will be required for the day of the test. Students living in areas where the Test cannot be completed within two hours will be charged accordingly.

Driving tests may only be arranged with the prior agreement of the instructor and the pupil. Any pupil who books a test without informing the instructor first may have to change their test date if this is not convenient for the instructor.

Jim Germaney Driving Tuition reserves the right to withhold the use of the vehicle for a driving test.

The 1st Lesson must be taken from the home address, this is to verify that a valid UK provisional licence is in place. Subsequent lesson can start or finish in a different location only with prior agreement with  Jim Germaney Driving Tuition.

Legal Liability:

The pupil should be aware that the instructor’s primary objective is to promote road awareness, defensive driving and all round safe driving and in doing so the instructor may take control of the vehicle. Although the instructor will make every effort to instruct to the highest standard the instructor can in no way be liable for any errors that the pupil may make while driving accompanied or not accompanied by the instructor before or after a test pass.

The instructor will endeavour to teach the correct driving skills according to the recommended syllabus issued by the DVSA, within the minimum number of lessons.

The instructor is at liberty at his/her absolute discretion to refuse to proceed with a lesson if they believe that the pupil is in anyway under the influence of drink or drugs or in an unfit state at the time of the lesson.

The instructor shall accept no liability for accidents, injury, loss or damage caused by the pupil’s recklessness or negligence during a lesson. The pupil is liable for any damage caused by reckless or dangerous behaviour.
